Le aree rurali sulla costa turca del Mar Nero vengono trasformate da giganteschi progetti infrastrutturali. I villaggi vengono trasformati in periferie cittadine, cosa che renderà illegali le attività agricole entro un arco di tempo di 5 anni. Insieme ai residenti locali, il gruppo di attivisti Kuzey Ormanları Savunması organizza la resistenza civile.

The rural areas at the Turkish Black Sea coast are transformed by gigantic infrastructure projects. Villages are turned into city suburbs, which will make agricultural activities illegal within a time span of 5 years. Together with the local residents, activist group Kuzey Ormanları Savunması organizes the civil resistance.

Julia Lazarus

Julia Lazarus è una curatrice freelance, artista e regista. Vive e lavora a Berlino. Ha ricevuto numerose borse di studio, finanziamenti e premi per il suo lavoro artistico e curatoriale. I suoi film sono distribuiti da sixpackfilm, Vienna ed e-flux New York e possono essere visti in festival e mostre cinematografiche internazionali. Il suo primo lungometraggio documentario è “Northern Forests”, su un gruppo di attivisti turchi nelle foreste a nord di Istanbul.

Julia Lazarus is a freelance curator, artist and filmmaker. Lives and works in Berlin. She has received numerous grants, funding and awards for her artistic and curatorial work. Her films are distributed by sixpackfilm, Vienna and e-flux New York and can be seen at international film festivals and exhibitions. Her first feature-length documentary, “Northern Forests,” is about a group of Turkish activists in the forests north of Istanbul.
